Unfortunately due to the requirements of the latest lockdown Angling is seen as non permitted activity from midnight on the 5th January 2021. The main reason given for this requirement is to prevent all unnecessary travel.
The Pride of Derby has been instructed to close its waters to all its ticket holders until further notice.
Obviously we are upset at this change but understand and feel that if we all pull together on this lockdown and observe the rules then Angling will soon be open again. In the meantime please do not access any of our fishing rights, as soon as the rules are relaxed we will make note on this web site.

Thank you for your required cooperation -

Hi Alan
Can the club please clarify their position now that the AT has released a statement today (07/01/21) saying the angling IS now allowed (with no overnight fishing and other rules, social distancing etc)
This is fabulous news for us all now that the floods have receded and the close season approaches but it is obviously vital that we adhere to the rules.
With thanks

Just to update on the message sent out on the 5th January - when we have fully reviewed the official guidance it is possible that we will open up again on the 11th January - this would possibly be with daytime fishing only - no overnight stays - dawn till dusk opening times only with and all the usual social distancing. Travel distances allowed to the venue would be at your risk and as noted in the Covid 19 rules for this lockdown.

The above will be confirmed as soon as possible

On the 11th ?? It’s ok now to fish. I don’t understand why we can’t fish tomorrow or the weekend.

The police advised that they will be rigidly enforcing the rule of not traveling for exercise outside of your local area and fining anyone who does – the Pride of Derby main site is in Hemington so anyone who lives outside of Hemington would, by going to the Pride of Derby site be breaking the law.

We think it would have been clearer if the original instruction of closing Angling on the 5th January had remained - we as a responsible club do not want to open and invite ticket holders to the waters only to get fined due to being outside of their local area.

We will update this message when there are any rule changes but in the meantime –
KEEP SAFE

Does this apply to the rivers as well?
