I have just completed a session at the above swim. The total duration was 13 days.
I have been a member for the past 3 years + I have done quite a few sessions on here but as to before this had never banked a carp.
I have had quite a few big bream but am in it for the carp. Have tried C.F.Corner a number of times, I have always put most of my efforts into the margin/shelf with just the one rod at any distance so I continued in this way.
I had changed a hell of a lot of things for this season. Even the way I thought about my methods, baiting, rigs, pod ,line even bait flavour
and colour. So this is how the sesh unfolded. You have heard of Batman and Robin, well this was a case of Draclo and the Tinster, my trusty
Days 1-5, nothing. No sithtings no movement, nothing. The wind had turned to my favour, straight on my front door. I had been using about
a kilo of bait a day. Day 6, at first light I am sat outside surveying my swim, all of a sudden right on target a mirror carp broke the surface.
Still nothing. Over the next two days I see several sightings in the bottom half of the lake with bubbling on my baited area in the mornings, still
nothing. I had cast one rod out about 70yds to my right. This was baited with a bright bait on a chod. Well it was almost a short withey style really, mid afternoon this rod went into meltdown result was a common of just over 24 lbs so we settled for the big numbers.
The only fish to visit my bank was a decent sized tench over the next few days.
Do I feel it was worth all the effort??, well yes, had a really good time. Good company, great food, a load of laughs. Met some decent people along the way. Each time anglers moved into swims near me they would come and introduce themselves and ask where I had my rods, really courtesy if you like. Would I do it again, hell YES
You may recognise me on the bank with the rather large Starbaits QG bivvy drop in for a chat, maybe even a brew...Jeff
