Baits permitted on still waters

There is an item regarding the use of particles in the news link. There is no amendment to say this has been lifted, so assume it is still in place.
There was also a ban at one time on anglers using excessive amounts of maggot on the main lakes but I am unable to find this link. Maggot as a hookbait can be used.

Every other bait mentioned is allowed on all lakes you have mentioned, as long as it is presented in a recommended manner. ie no fixed rigs, for fish safety.

Redhouse is a shared water so may have some slightly different rules if fished on the DRAC ticket.

The news article you pointed out is helpful and I hadn’t spotted it before. It says particles are only banned as feed. So presumably I can use bread, sweetcorn, worms, artificial corn as hook bait.

However I don’t think maggots are permitted as a hook bait on all lakes as I can see that rule 35 says “the use of Maggots “of any form” are not permitted on the Pride and Olvers Lakes at any time”. I am taking from this that I can use maggots on Grimshaws an Redhouse.

However if ive misunderstood I’d be happy to be corrected as I will respect the rules which I’m sure have been brought in with fish welfare in mind.

So if Numpty’s assumptions are correct we can use maggots as hookbaits on all waters, including a pride and Olvers. We might also be able to use maggots in moderation as feed on all waters as you suggest that only “excessive” use was banned. That seems different to the rules posted on the website, which say that
maggots are not allowed at all on Olvers and Pride. It is news to me, but I’m ok with that.

Good to know that worms, bread, sweetcorn, plastic baits are also ok as hookbaits on all waters. I take it that that sweetcorn (as a particle) is not allowed as feed on Olvers and Pride but is ok to use as feed on other waters.

Unless I’m still misunderstanding anything?

If you take a look at Rule-No 35 in your Season Ticket it states that (The use of Maggots of any form) are not allowed on Pride and Olvers Lakes at any time. Regards Ian

Yes as you state in your post the hook baits you described are fine. However Particles are currently Banned on Pride Lake / Olvers Lake and Grimshaws Lake until further notice. If there are any changes to these rules you will be notified via our Website. Ian
