Had the pleasure of catching my first fish on my first trip on Redhouse on 17/4/15 a common carp at 12.15 lbs and really enjoyed my session and had a nice chat with a few other anglers and Paul the bailiff (thanks Paul for your time) so all in all I really enjoyed myself and having a good start to my campaign. Also if you are passing please come and say hello and have a chat or fetch a mug for a brew Tight lines all

Thanks Alan, didn’t have a sniff during the night. But in the afternoon, had these 3 overcasting to showing fish and drawing back.

    Nice work jon,
I’m a new member too but not had the opportunity to get down there yet. I have walked red house several times and spoke to a few different guys all giving me different info, so am a little confused as how best to tackle my first session on there. Did you bait your swim or just go with a minimal approach. One of the things I have been told is to find the silt rather than the gravel as the fish feed more over those areas. Any way top rodding mate.

Thanks Jonny. I’ve been told the lake only holds about 60 carp. So I only scattered a few freebies when I got there. I didn’t feel any silt in the swim I fished, so not sure about that one mate. The bottom was certainly clean and weed free at 40 yards though.

I didn’t see a peg number. But I was sort of central on the north bank, with the trent behind me fella.
