I’ve been twice since opening night and it’s fishing hard (for us Barbel chasers anyway) Did a night on the cracker factory peg an lost one which i suspect was a decent Chub.

Did another sort of evening / into the night downstream from the Wilne footbridge where there’s an old mattress dumped in the peg and managed a 6lb+ Chub.

Not a sniff of a Barbel yet though.

Tend to come alive late August and into September for the decent Barbel.

Derwent has switched on again after the recent rainy spell and cooler temps.

Brace of doubles Saturday night fell to my home rolled Parmesan and Pepperami Firestick boilies.

    12lb 8oz and 11lb 14oz.

You’ll notice the first fish looks like one earlier in the thread i caught last year, same triangular nick in the tail, wish i had photographed this most recent capture from the other side now to compare scale patterns. Doesn’t seem to have gotten any bigger since last year, still 12 n half lb.

Still trying to get one of the bigger 14lb+ fish that i know are present, hopefully i won’t have to wait until next season 🙂
