Dog Mess and allowing dogs on overnight sessions

First of all id say go to specsavers if there was dog mess near to the middle of the swim how did you not see it when you was setting up?
The guys fishing in kiddies corner was there from friday afternoon till 11 30 am monday and HAD NO dogs.
It was packed out at the weekend and there was a lot of walkers walking round the lakes with dogs ON the lead and with children who probably dont have premium ticket so you cant blame premium ticket members.
Are you in the rspca as you no nothing about dogs i have never seen any dog mess on pride as i have a dog and take him most times all dogs i see are well behaved as they love the outside and freshair you never hear them barking only when you go into there area which is good as they look after ur gear on the bank. The dogs are not on a short leed either they are v much free.
What if ur single with a dog you have to give your ticket up as ur dog is ur family and freind and protects you.
Your comment on changing dog rules is selfish you not the president of pride of derby no body has complained before get a life go to specsavers concentrate on your fishing.

I do agree with you that dog owners should be responsible for clearing up any mess made by the dog they have with them However you should never tar every dog owner with the same brush.
I have been a member of POD for over 20 years and I believe that most members are very prudent people and care a great deal for the club and the waters they fish upon.
The time you speak of where you allege that dog mess was in the swim was a time I was fishing and there where a lot of non fisherman with dogs and children walking about the complex.
To say that dogs should only be allowed on a day session and not overnight is a little bit beyond understanding ? do this mean that dogs will only do their business at night time ? I don’t thinks so.
I believe that hindsight is a wonderful thing but difficult to always have ? That being said everyone is entitled to their opinion but maybe next time you could direct it in a different way.

i also agree with carpden
i was fishing redhouse last week and the bloke next to me had his dog , i never heard anytrhing from the dog.
are you sure it was not the birds as there Sh*ts are like bloody humans.
there are a lot of people that walk around this complex but everyone who i have seen with a dog even when fishing next to them iv never had a problem.

It’s not the dogs you should worry about, but the dirty humans that take a crap in the bushes.

I’ve recently posted on another thread about people taking a number 2 on redhouse. I trod in some and had to throw my shoes away because of this. There really are some dirty, lazy assed people around who think it’s OK to take a 2 in the bushes rather than go to the toilet, or bag it up.

OK it sounds from the replies that this might have been an isolated incident and it could have been caused by a non member walking their dog round the lake. I also agree that I have never had a problem before and all of the dogs I have seen on the complex seem to be well behaved and responsibly looked after by Pride members.

So I agree that it would be unreasonable to ask for a blanket ban on the basis of one (unpleasant) incident.

All I will say is that if anyone sees someone with their dog off their lead or fouling the place and not picking it up (member or non member) then please either challenge them yourself or let the bailiffs know. I personally think that any member doing this should lose their ticket.

There is also lots of bird muck on the complex and Ian told me there are some plans to do something about this. But dog mess is worse. It stinks and it has serious human health risks. I really hope my experience stays as an isolated incident. But if I see any more of the stuff I will raise it again on here. Whether some dog owners regard this (bizarrely) as selfish or not.
