Must say I have to agree, having never fished grimshaws I was really intimidated by all the marker floats and distance sticks. Is it all necessary on what is effectively a pond? If you can’t cast 40 yards without the aid of sticks you probably shouldn’t be fishing. Also I drive past every day on the way to work and have seen people there for 2 weeks, with tv aerials and solar panels on their bivvys, surely you should be on red house with that kind of technology. The art of fishing is slowly dying and the age of sitting in a bivvy behind 3 rods for weeks on end is being born. It’s hardly surprising people can’t catch on there the carp will most likely still be eating last years thousands of kilos of boilies that haven’t broke down yet!

Everybody to there own gentlemen!!im quite happy sitting in my bivvy behind my two rods whilst fishing and socialising with other likeminded anglers thankyou.Its a good water to get a bend in your rod at this time of year + redhouse is a solid water to fish even for the most experienced angler maybe you guys should go on there if your that good?

I would say that most of the anglers on grimshaws are on the waiting list for the premium waters and or honing their skills to try and tempt one out of redhouse. Using distance sticks IMO is the way forward, baiting and fishing accurately. If you have had a take from a spot, you want to hit that spot time and time again and make sure your bait is on that spot 🙂

As for the gear, I’d sooner them have all the gear 🙂 not a little pan net and an unhooking mat like a piece of toast!

They may be disabled, cant cast and need a boat to drop their free bait and I wish I could be bivvy’ed up for two weeks 🙂

You take what I said out of context…never claimed to be a great fisherman & do not have anything against bivvys i have a very nice bivvy that I love using while sitting behind my rods.
When I first fished there I was suprised with the way some people fished grimshaws (specimen carp approach) when it’s not that sort of water in 22yrs of fishing I’ve never seen a water like grimshaws fished this way imagine showing up at your local carp water for a good days fishing catching low doubles or smaller and everyone’s there with 2 bivvys each, 20 kilo of bait, bait boats etc etc… that’s not fun it’s ridiculous but as you say each to there own.
