I’m thinking about getting the deeper pro. I think it could be a real edge on red house. And makes it much easier than writing notes down why using a marker float. When are you planning fishing mate? I’ll be in sometime next week.

I might pop up and take a look during the week. Don’t know if I will be fishing or not. If you see a dark grey Toyota C-HR with a load of stickers in the rear windscreen, I won’t be too far away!

Hopefully this week won’t be too busy! Hoping to get a couple of nights in this week down there whilst the weather is a bit better than we have been having (been fishing through out the winter on smaller more winter form waters though). Popped down last week and there was a Railway member on the point with 4 rods out, a guy walking around chucking what looked to be a large jerkbait around, a couple of guys in the far top corner with deadbaits out & another carp angler further down the bank in catfish corner (I believe that is what it is called!). Nobody was admitting to catching anything though. I did see another guy walking around with a dog & a young child putting in bait along the far side (otter fence side) in every swim. Can’t be good if people are doing this and others dropping in without knowing that it has been done! Fair enough doing it in one swim that you know you will be fishing, but every swim???? I have known people to be kicked out of easy going syndicates for doing similar!!!!! Only takes 3 or 4 people to all do this without realising to completely mess things up for everyone!

I was down last week at the end of the “summer” weather. Didn’t see or hear of anything for the 2 nights I was there. Did see a couple put their heads out first thing when I arrived, but that was it.

Hi all, has anyone been on red house this weekend? What are the water levels like around the lake? All being well I should be dropping on Tuesday. So just wanted to know if it’s still flooded?

Hi Richard. Sorry but thought everyone knew that Redhouse is closed-off due to the high water levels. The best thing to do prior to setting off would be to contact one of our Bailiffs either Paul Lowe / Dean Hill or Stuart Mellors who is our Site Maintenance Manager, they will give you up to date information on the Lake Conditions. Any updates on Red House water levels?

Hi Guy’s. Just to update you all on the current water level conditions affecting our Lakes. Redhouse Lake is still closed off at the Road Barrier due to standing water on the Roadway on the lake side of the Barrier. Pride / Olvers and Grimshaws Lakes are also extremely high, however there are a few Swims that remain fishable, Wellingtons / Waders are advised if you intend to fish any of these waters. Please note that prior to your Journey it would be advised for you to contact one of the site Bailiffs for an update on conditions. I hope this is of some help. Regards Ian Hole.

Your welcome Richard. The Barrier to Redhouse Lake has now been opened for vehicles as the water level has now reduced. “However” caution is still required if any of our members are intending to fish whilst water levels are so high. The levels in Pride Lake have now receded due to the Flap-valve being opened today, unfortunately Olvers / Grimshaws and Poysers Pond are still extremely high, so as stated in my previous post please contact a site Bailiff prior to making your journey to fish.
