I agree cottontop I believe night fishing should be banned on rivers. I am sick of going down to the sawley stretch only to find someone has been on the same peg for days. Lets face it there are not many pegs in the first place.

I always take my float rod with me when ever I go fishing, along with a pint of maggots and a few casters.
I must admit though, I’ve not had one Roach, gudgeon or Ide from our stretch at Sawley.
As for night fishing, I don’t think it should be banned on rivers. I’ve been to our lakes with the intention of fishing for a nice carp or tench or maybe a bigger Perch, only to find most of the pegs are full of Bivvis and there’s nowhere to fish except the river.
I have yet to try night fishing the river, but my 2man bivvi will only be used to store my gear and the wife :woohoo: As she will not allow me to stay overnight by myself, which in my opinion is good reasoning.

If I manage to catch a fish trotting, I’ll post it on this thread
