Sawley Weir fishable areas?

The fishing in the area of the Weir is as marked in your season ticket centre fold. But in short the complete area is included other then the section known as the Harrington Field. This is the section near to the Harrington Arms pub from the road bridge upstream to the first fence. Parking is as described in your season ticket but added to this can be in the parking in the Ironmongers field. No access for cars along the canal bank.

I suppose if you wanted to fish the canal section you could just part in the marina?

Hi guys new to the club and not that familiar with the area. Which is Ironmongers field?

We were looking to access the weir today but tried from the car park past the pump house off Wilne lane/road but could not figure out how to get under the motorway.

Could someone point out which one is the iron mongers field please?

Is this off the access from the Harrington Arms car park?

Access to ironmongers field as below:

Access from the cut in RED through a locked gate which you should have the key. Park up somewhere where theres a space near the river and walk UNDEARNEATH Tamworth road bridge over the Trent and follow the path to access the Weir.

For the backside of Sawery Weir:

Park in Harrington pub carpark but not on the Tarmac, go though the gate and park in the field, Might be common courtesy though to go buy a pint or a meal 🙂

Follow close to the river around to the backside of the Weir.

I popped down in the week and found the areas you highlighted Rich, thanks for that.

The only issue I had was the gate in the back of the Harrington car park was secured by a combination lock and not the same padlock/key which was used on the other gates. I was going to go in the pub and ask but It was getting on so I just left it

Should be sorted soon, PoD have acquired the below stretch and will be fitting a PoD lock to that gate soon.
