Hello Jeff & and other concerned waiting list members :-

I can absolutely confirm there is only four ways anyone can fish on the Premium tickets waters without going on the waiting list – these are Shareholder Members ( the Owners of the Pride of Derby) of which there are 50 issued but only perhaps 5 go fishing on the Premium waters – Shareholders may take an occasional guest only after obtaining permission and getting a complimentary ticket from the Directors – this is very infrequent. Directors may take a guest – this again is very infrequent. Also the bailiffs may fish these waters – in total if one person per week fits this bill then that is it ?

I can assure you Ian Hole is very strict with the waiting list – he knows how important it is to maintain confidence in this system – if you can give in confidence any evidence that anyone is bypassing this system without our knowledge then please let me know the persons name and i will take care of it.

Alan I thank you for an informative reply, however, you did not answer my core question.
I do not have a problem with however the tickets are distributed, my question was directed to the waiting list.
Does any of the above,” alternative” premium tickets have any bearing on the waiting list rota??
You mentioned Ian, I did not. I hold Ian in the highest regard, he is the one I would listen to above all.
He has a no B/S approach and will tell you straight how it is!
I would just like, as I am sure some other members would want, to know that it does not interfere with
Ian’s running of the waiting list, that’s all. Jeff

The Waiting list is the Waiting list – no changes are made to this in the form of additions no matter who you are or know – hope this is clear – the only thing that changes is when anglers cease to be standard ticket holders they are deleted from the list and when they are offered premium tickets and do not take up the offer – they also are deleted.

I was 53 on the list at last renewal, sent Ian my new mobile number just in case he had tried ringing me on my old company phone. Living in hope ๐Ÿ™‚ can’t wait to fish the premium waters.

You and me both mate. I think this will be my fourth year on POD. Had some nice fish and some great times.
I think that once you get the premium ticket all the waiting will be worth it, can’t see me ever leaving, I just adore the place.

I’m currently on the waiting list for the premium ticket, and no doubt will be for a fair few years still.
What bugs me is that every time I fish up at Redhouse there’s hardly anyone on the other waters. I only fish mid week, so it’s a lot quieter than the weekends. It’s clear that there are people who have the premium tickets just for the sake of it, and only have a ticket so they don’t drop off. What they should realise is that they’re stopping people who want to go there. I understand that the numbers need to be ccapped, butplease give people the chance to get on there. You can see why so many people give up after waiting for so long.

    Hi Alan,

Can you tell me if the waiting list for premium tickets is published anywhere on this website so we can all see where we are. If not, then do my other fellow members not think that it would be a good idea for it to be on here?

    Regards
    Jon.

Jon, i think it would be good to have a list telling you how far down the waiting list you are. I would love to get on the premium waters, but just do not think that will happen for at least the next 4 years. A lot can happen in that time too. I just do not think that the guys who renew their tickets for the hell of it, and not visit the place, should do this. It just isn’t fair on the people actually wanting to fish there.

Has there been any thought of doing a mid week ticket at all on Olvers and Pride to at least give people the chance of getting on? I understand it would be hard to police, though, which would be an issue.

I waited 5 years for my premium ticket, yes it’s a long wait but well worth it. Just hang in there…

Some people like myself, I’m guessing cant fish as much as they would like too. For example I got my ticket in July 2015 and fished it quite a lot for around two months. Since then the company that I was a partner of, the other director decided to vote me off the board and terminate my employment (long story so wont go there). But since the end of august I have set-up a new company and hit the ground running and have not stopped working for the last two and half months!!! I would love to be on the banks of Olver’s & Pride but my current situation does not allow….Sorry I have waited 5 years for my ticket, I will not be giving it up as I cant wait for the free time to wet a line in them superb waters!!

    Regards
    Alan

Just herd the I’ve not made it onto the premium waters again this year. I’m on my third season and told that I’m number 96 on the list. Looks like I won’t be getting on for at least another two seasons then. Absolutely gutted is an understatement.
As previously explained, I only go fishing mid week so it’s heartbreaking to drive to redhouse, past pride and olvers to see them virtually empty every time. I just cannot see how there are that many members on the premium ticket fishing the lakes.
