Walked up there today for a couple of hours this morning, was fishing maggot and caster. We had a couple of grayling.

Its very deep in the edge off the gravel, even with these current low levels its about 8-10ft deep.

the fast run straight off the weir has a couple of snags in it.

We had the grayling from the deeps and also the end of the fast run.

Is it a long walk from the car park? Was there many pegs you can fish or was it overgrown?

It is about a 15 to 20 minute walk if you park in grimleys locked car park. The is just one gravel bar peg that is just big enough to fit two people on with a couple of rods.

I would want to fish it on a rising river as you could get in to trouble as the water could get behind you.

    Well worth a go.

Hi. I park on Wilne lane and it’s a 20 min walk but pretty. I’ve fished it several times this year for barbel and blanked every time but it’s not an all day swim. I spend an hour there and fish pegs back to my car. Small baits long hook lengths pal. Good luck.
