Am a little surprised that after 4 days there hasn’t been a response from any one in authority about the above topic has anyone any idea why I can see it would be a boon to the long stay anglers although they would perhaps be a bit hesitant about leaving their peg for any length of time

I would think that the lack of easy to get to swims on the Derwent is symptomatic of the lack of use by anglers not neglect by the club. If there were a lot of anglers fishing it there would soon be plenty of trodden down banks but these days it seems that these days people me included want to get their cars and tackle as close to their peg as possible.
