Never seen it empty in the 40 years I’ve been a member of the DRAC or Pride.
There maybe some photos at Shardlow Heritage Centre by the Clock Warehouse pub in the village though, from when the gravel was being extracted.
May also be worth a trip to Derby Museum as there is a Bronze Age boat that was discovered in the area during gravel extraction, they may have some photos.
Also on here somewhere, was a thread giving details of the contours, and best areas to fish on the lake.

Alan, are these things usually tethered to the bank somehow.
Maybe worth a stroll down the towpath with a bit of a hook on a bank stick close to some of the bridges if this is the case.

Hi guys. Had a look at the Free Spirit CTX 12ft 2.75 at Walkers today. Seemed just the job.

Has anyone had experience with this brand as i’d never heard of them. May look at the 3lb TC too.

Thanks for the replies chaps. I now have 3 endorsements for the 2.75 TC being adequate for Grimshaws.
Would I be correct in thinking that a 3lb+ TC would only be a benefit to me if a longer cast/heavier load is required (PVA bag, 3oz lead)
I’ve just got to source the rods now and hope they are adequate for the France next year, but its all part of the learning process, and I could hire rods there if I feel outgunned.

Bit bewildered with this one. Toilets and running water I can understand, but showers !!!!!! What’s wrong with a strip wash if you stay so long ?? But if the premium ticket members are prepared to pay for this privilege, then so be it .

Also applies to unhooking mats or baths. Please keep the waters safe.

Not fished it for a while. Leaving Willington towards Repton, go over the River and access is through the first gate on the left. Parking used to be in the field behind the peg, but may now be concentrated near to the bridge, due to the homeowners on the opposite bank.
    Alan can you confirm ?

Good idea, but remember Redhouse is a shared water with DRAC. It would mean that the facility would need a locked door, or financial input from DRAC. Otherwise it will get abused by non Pride members and will be left for the Pride to solely fund the supply and cleansing of the facility.
