The two fox cubs – 6 months old have on Thursday 8th September been released on the Pride complex – these animal will cause no harm to you but will hopefully start to reduce the numbers of rats and rabbits on our site.

The match which was an Anglers trust “Riverfest” knockout went well and it was won from Trent lock with 30lb of bream but all the rest of the weights were from Pride section. Pegs 23 to 40 was on the pride. The weights were made up of mainly skimmers. This section was won just above the New Long Horse bridge with 19lb there was 2 18lb weights on the straight between the derwent mouth and the pipe bridge. And there was plenty of back up weights.
The guy running the match noted that they really appreciated being allowed to have Pride water “it is a beautiful venue”

Yes you are right – but doing nothing is not an option – we are overrun with rabbits so the thinking is that if the larder is where you live and the larder is full then why try and leave ? Also it is thought that they will have their own litter and as such possibly not keen to leave. We will see but nothing ventured ??

Because of the fence natural predators like Foxes have been excluded from our site – the fox cubs to be introduced are not same sex and are not related – one from London and the other from Mansfield.

Their parents were assumed to have been shot and they have been brought up from very small cubs by Peter Ambler at Spondon meadows animal sanctuary.

Pride lock now on the gate at the back of the Harrington arms – anglers now welcome to use this access to park and get to the fishing on this section and up to the weir.

For anglers with a disability i see no problem using the car park inside the perimeter of the Grimleys ponds – in dry weather only though ? As for the river it would mean driving over the farmers land and this would not be permitted.

I absolutely agree with you on this one – I think they should be banned in all circumstances – the damage they have recently caused should be evidence enough. Our bailiffs were recently told to ensure no open fires of any sort were lit – the ground, grass and trees are tinder dry.

No you can use particle baits on Grimshaws but pellet baits are preferred –

I wish i was surprised by this incident – unfortunately we have no rules about “manners” or “common sense” it is more or less expected. We do have a rule that says that anglers should not fish any closer than 15 yards to the angler next to them.! This would suggest that the person next to you should not encroach to the side with their lines more than 7.5 yards from where they are sitting

If this happens again and a polite request does not have the desired effect then please make contact with the site guys or any bailiff – they will sort the issue out and allow you to fish the peg you have chosen.

Hi Aleksandr. You applied for your Season Ticket at lunchtime today, I’m not able to process Season Tickets and get them to you on the same day i’m afraid. Your ticket will be posted to you at some point this evening so should reach you within 2 to 3 days. Please note you must not fish our waters without having your season ticket with you. Another big Common out of Pride Lake – known as Hoover ? at 48 lbs 4oz a fish not seen now for a couple of years and caught on the gate peg near main entrance – great fish

Sorry but its just about when we have personnel on site – when we can make it later we will – we only have one full time person on site –

Sorry its taken so long to answer your query – yes we understand your concerns of the gate closure adjacent to the Grimshaws lake. We will when we have the necessary personnel on site leave the gate open longer.
The reason for the gate closure at nights is for the security of anglers on the bank and if we could we would close both gates at night but this is not possible due to potential emergency needs.

We are aware of significant vehicle movements on occasions during the night – it’s difficult to see why any vehicles should be moving around the site up until 3am ?
but I am assured they are –

It must be most disconcerting to anglers on the bank when vehicles are passing by them late into the night – security being a significant issue to most anglers.

In order to counter this and to verify good reason for this type of vehicle movement we are to carry out random vehicle gate checks and anyone who cannot give a good reason why they are moving about on site late into the night will be asked to move off site and if necessary have their tickets removed.

If persons are on site without necessary licences they will have their keys taken from them and if necessary the police will be informed.
