I caught the tench at 6lb 15oz and it put up a great fight into some Lilly’s. Well done on your PB. It’s cheeks were puffy.

Rich it definitely look like a pike or cormorant had gone for it. I remember at the time thinking what has had it. Very distinguished mark.

Had my best session on Thursday. Caught 6 fish altogether. 4 barbel and 2 chub. Didn’t want to leave!

1. Barbel 7lb 12oz

3. Chub 1lb 2oz

4. Chub 5lb 13oz

5.Barbel 5lb 2oz

6. Barbel 10lb 4oz

Well I thought yesterday was going to be a blank …….

In the morning I thought I’d go onto the river Derwent for a few hours where I had absolutely nothing. The only action there were was a pike in my swim and trying to attack my feeder as I brought it in.

I then decided to go on the Trent in the evening. After hours of nothing, 30 minutes to pack up my rod rattled off like nothing ever before ….. What was it??!!

I was ever so happy with what I caught …..

It was a 12lb 10oz barbel, my new pb. It was in beautiful condition.

Had some good success over the last 24 hours. Got 3 bream during the night and to my surprise got a roach on a boilie! To top it off managed to move and get a barbel (9lb 8oz)

Great meeting you mate. Funnily enough after a few minutes you left I got a break and then had two others in the night (only 4lbers)

However caught a barbel (9lb 8oz) about a hour ago, will post photo later. Well chuffed.

Having a decent start on the river so far:

Last Friday had 4 bream. The heaviest weighing 7lb 7oz, others were 5lb 3oz, 5lb 13 oz and 6lb 2 oz

Then today caught my first barbel. Weighed 11lb 2oz

Now after a chub!!

Had a great session last night catching 4 tench. One of them beat my PB and was 6lb 15o

Another weighed 5lb 3oz

The other two weighed 2lb 12oz and 3lb 3oz

John White beat his PB too by catching this beautiful Tench. It weighed 5lb 9oz.

Having a good season on Ully Gully!

Had a really good 2 and a half hour evening session on gully tonight. Caught 3 fish all together.

Caught my PB tench. 5lb 8oz ….. Absolute cracker!

Then got a 4lb 2oz tench

Then as was packing away got a 4lb 2oz bream

Having a good run at the moment catching fish. Hope it continues!

Grimshaws has started to fish well over the last week. Even in the strong wind today I managed to net 3. I managed to beat my grimshaws PB by getting a 15lb common carp that was in cracking condition

Caught my first Zander today. Was only a little one, 2lb 1oz

Had a great day on the River Trent today. Caught two pike. First catch beat my personal best and was my first double! :

18lb 9oz – Put up a great scrap

7lb 12oz – Good little fight too

Can’t wait to get on the bank again!!
