Hi Guy’s. Just to update you all on the current water level conditions affecting our Lakes. Redhouse Lake is still closed off at the Road Barrier due to standing water on the Roadway on the lake side of the Barrier. Pride / Olvers and Grimshaws Lakes are also extremely high, however there are a few Swims that remain fishable, Wellingtons / Waders are advised if you intend to fish any of these waters. Please note that prior to your Journey it would be advised for you to contact one of the site Bailiffs for an update on conditions. I hope this is of some help. Regards Ian Hole.

Hi Richard. Sorry but thought everyone knew that Redhouse is closed-off due to the high water levels. The best thing to do prior to setting off would be to contact one of our Bailiffs either Paul Lowe / Dean Hill or Stuart Mellors who is our Site Maintenance Manager, they will give you up to date information on the Lake Conditions. Regards Ian

Hi I’ve just got back from the Lakes and they all looked o/k. The Trent is really high at the moment which will obviously affect Redhouse Lake and the Ully Gully Backwater levels. If you want to keep updated on this please contact one of the site Bailiffs, I’m sure they will give you any information you want. Ian

Hi John. We had reports of Spawning activity on Redhouse Lake a few days ago, this may well be over now..? I would advise you to give one of our Bailiffs a call prior to going down and he will advise you with up date information on the lakes. Give Dean Hill or Paul Lowe a call. Ian

Hi Richard. In answer to your comments relating to the use of Tiger Nuts on Redhouse Lake. It is a known fact that Tiger Nuts cause serious damage to fish if not prepared correctly, and in some cases known to be fatal. As you know our main priority is the safety of our fish stocks, rule No-8 of your Season Ticket clearly indicates that Nuts of any type are not to be used on Pride of Derby waters. Your other question relates to the use of 4 Rods on Redhouse Lake, I fail to see why this concerns you as this rule only applies to Derby Railway (DRAC) members fishing this water, if we were to introduce a 4 Rod rule would they then increase to 5 Rod I wonder..?. They have their rules and we have ours and as long as you comply to the rules in the Pride of Derby season ticket that’s fine. If you have any questions re the above please give me a call on my mobile. Regards Ian

If this person thought this item had been left behind by a fellow Angler, he should have handed it in to one of our Bailiffs. “By not doing this makes him a Thief” We don’t want this type of person on our property. Ian

Hello Richard. In answer to your question, no we don’t have a boat on each lake, this rule means that only a Shareholder my use a boat on the Pride of Derby waters. If you want to take your baits out to a long distance you may use a Bait-Boat, in order to use one of these you will require a Bait-Boat Permit from either myself or one of our Bailiffs. Please note there is no charge for these, however they do come with a set of rules that must be adhered to when in use. If you have any questions relating to the above please contact me on the number in you Season Ticket. Regards Ian Hole.

As you all know the Standard / Senior and Disabled Memberships expire on 30th June each year, so until this date has past I’m unable to complete the sale of the available Premium Tickets. There are still members on this list that will be offered a position on this section if renewed by this date. If you have renewed your Season Ticket and your name comes up on the list then you will be offered a ticket. Ian

Hi Andy. Yes there is Kingfishers along Olvers back-bank every year, they must have a nest there somewhere. That’s a lovely photo Andy, ain’t they a stunning bird. Last Monday we sat watching several Tree Creepers feeding in the trees on Pride Lake sign-swim “Just Brilliant”. Ian
