Hi Simon. We are unsure of the silver fish stocks due to previous flooding from the Trent. However there has been a Bream Recorded at
19Ib-10oz, this was approx. 5 years ago, there has also been a reported Perch out around the same time at 5Ib-03oz, Unfortunately no photo’s are available, but the catches were witnessed. Regards Ian

Hello Anthony. I take it you are a Standard Season Ticket holder, if so you should have requested to be placed on the Premium Ticket waiting list at the time of joining..!! If you contact me with your season ticket number I will sort this out for you. The waiting list time all depends on how many members fail to renew each season, this will vary from year to year. You can contact me on 07966544104.

The Stock in Poysers currently stands at as follows…Tench x 500…Carp x 220…125Ib of Bream went in when pond was De-Silted plus Roach and Skimmers have been introduced. Caution of overstocking must be looked at prior to introducing more stock…!! This ponds depth is approx 4′ at normal summer level..!! Please note the above stock are coming on really well, be nice to see how the Tench are doing this year. Last summer plenty of small Mirrors and Commons were being caught at about 2″ so spawning had taken place, and all healthy fish too. Ian

Kevin / Richard. The Environment Tel-No is located in your Season Ticket..0800 807060. The Bailiff for the Trent at Sawley is Chris Davis and George Elliott (Pride of Derby Head Bailiff) who covers the River Derwent along with many other locations on a day to day basis. ps: Didn’t know that you had been a member for 20 years Richard, only got you down as joining April 2013..?

Chris Davis has been called down there many times in the past only to find young lads camping, not fishing. unfortunately there is not much we can do about this as we don’t own the land “only the fishing rights” The land owner should clamp down on the camping situation. Chris has checked their tents etc for evidence of fishing and found nothing. Ian

Hi Guy’s. Regarding these entries on this site relating to these persons fishing around Sawley Weir. Has anyone actually made contact the Bailiff and reported this at the time…? The Bailiff who covers this area is indicated in your season ticket, I’m confused…!!! Ian
